One Suite a Week

One Suite a Week is a passion project that I dreamed up. I’ve been in a transitional phase with our business as we shift our offerings to include and focus on custom and semi custom wedding invitations. I have been subcontracting for Heather at Red Bicycle Paper Co. for the past several months to get my feet wet and learn the ropes as a stationery designer.

Best Day Ever! Our Wedding: Part 1

We got married on May 18th, 2019. It was a perfect spring day. The weather was overcast (great for photos!), the cherry blossoms were in bloom, and the date fell on our 5 year anniversary together. May 18th was also my late great grandmother’s birthday. When we first got engaged, we initially wanted to do a fall wedding. Given the timing though, it would have been really tight to plan and save in just over a year. We opted for Spring 2019, and when we saw how the dates fell, we knew we just had to pick that date.

5 Things I've Learned Since Starting Our Own Business

When I first attempted to start a business back in the summer of 2017, I did it all wrong. I opened up my Etsy shop and just threw stuff up. I wanted to get into the stationery world and design wedding invitations at the time. I designed a couple templates and just listed them on Etsy hoping for a sale. I was too afraid of failing already that I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t start an instagram, or a separate social media, I didn’t post about it anywhere.

February 2019 | Month in Review

With client jobs on the go, the Self Made Life Podcast, shooting some creative flat lays and visual content with Megan Butchard Photography, and exciting new ventures to come (can’t share just yet ;)), here are a couple highlights from February!

Why I bullet journal & how it’s helped me stay accountable

I remember going to Chapters Indigo and just gushing over their cute planners - Ban.do and Kate Spade have my heart. Unfortunately though - I always found myself getting stuck in that rut of not using them to their full potential. When I was working my 9-5 desk job and balancing that #sidehustlelife, I found that those conventional planners never served me well. I always found it such a challenge to cram in all the details of my own business into those tiny little weekend slots. Or going back to the back in the “notes” section to jot down my production list for the evening. Months would go by and I would have fallen off track long ago. Before I new it the year was half over and I was onto the next pretty planner convinced this one would work for me.
